Mulch Dye
We all love gardens. Plants and flowers and nature always
make us feel relaxed and at ease. It is no coincidence that the
best hotels have atriums and plenty of vegetation. And those of
us who like manual work and have the space, can’t help but have
and take care of a small garden, according to our space
limitations in the places where we live.
As anyone who has worked with gardens knows, mulch plays an
important part in the process of gardening. It performs three
important functions.
First of all, it blocks the sunlight that unwanted weeds
need to grow. Also, it is a great way to keep soil moisture
from evaporating. Finally, it regulates soil temperature by
blocking heat during the day, and emanating the heat blocked
during the date at night, thus reducing the stress that plants
suffer from extreme temperatures.
However, in addition to making plants healthier and reducing
the gardener’s workload, mulch is also used for decoration.
After all, the main purpose of a garden is to look nice.
While organic mulch looks natural by itself, some gardeners
and landscapers like to have more color options for their mulch
in order to get a different or original look. One of the
easiest ways to achieve this is by using mulch dye.
There are quite a few different types of mulch dye. The
first one is the mulch dye that is used in rubber mulch and
which is applied by the manufacturer before packaging. This
type of rubber mulch is used very often in playground areas or
in landscapes where an original effect is wanted.
The other main type of mulch dye is the one that can be
bought and applied by the gardener. This type of mulch dye is
used only on organic mulch, like bark mulch for example. It is
applied on it in order to give it a specific color.
One common application of mulch dye is to color mulch that
doesn’t look as good as it did when it was new, but that still
performs very well. Some types of mulch tend to fade with time,
and a spray over will make them look like new. In these cases,
mulch dye of the same color of the original mulch color or a
very similar one is used.
Other times, mulch dye is used in order to give the
appearance of a certain type of mulch. For example, it might be
given the color of wooden types of mulch, like cypress or
cedar.
Finally, there are other colors of mulch that are meant to
give a special effect, even if they aren’t naturally present in
any type of mulch. Blue mulch is a good example. Many
landscapers use it for a water-like effect or to simulate small
paths or streams.
