Best Mulch

Mulch is very useful for gardening and landscaping. It has a lot of benefits that make your work easier, and benefit your plants. Depending on the type of mulch you get, you can get specific properties for other uses.

When people ask, “what is the best mulch I can get?” it can be difficult to answer, as there isn’t really a best mulch that can be applied to any situation. It depends a lot on what you need or want, as some types of mulch will perform differently in certain specific circumstances.

For example, if you don’t want to work a lot on your garden, or you need mulch for your playground, then rubber mulch is the best mulch for you. It doesn’t need to be replaced in a long time because it’s not bio-degradable. In addition, you’ll be helping recycle rubber from old and used tires that would otherwise become garbage or be burned and pollute (remember to dispose of your rubber mulch properly when you don’t want it anymore, so it won’t become garbage or pollute). Also, if you want to give a dark, almost black color to a part of your garden, then rubber band is also your best choice. Many people use it to mark paths or rings around their flower beds because of the aesthetics created by the contrast of colors. Finally, rubber mulch is elastic, which makes it the best mulch for playground areas, where it can soften accidents and falls from.

Another good example is cocoa mulch. If you don’t have any pets, and you want a bio-degradable mulch, and would like something original, then cocoa mulch is the best mulch for you. It looks great, and unlike other types of organic mulch, it grows darker with time, not grayer, which gives it a natural earth brown color that is appreciated in gardens. However, the best feature of cocoa mulch is its aroma. When placed on your garden, it will give a sweet chocolate aroma that will last a few weeks. Even afterwards, if you get close to the mulch, it will still give a slight aroma. Just pay attention, if you have pets, and specially dogs, this is not the best mulch for you, cocoa, like chocolate, can be poisonous to dogs, which tend to eat it because of the aroma it gives.

So, with just these two examples, you can see that there isn’t one best mulch that will apply to every single occasion. You’ll have to evaluate your needs, expectations, and likes. You may also want to talk with other people that have the same needs you do.  Only then, you’ll be able to select the best mulch for you.
